The 2025 winner of the Young Ambassador Scholarship and $3,000 award is Valley Stream resident Kismeilyn Alcantara, a graduate of Valley Stream North High School and a Sophomore at Nassau Community College. As part of her winning project, Kismeilyn conducted a tabling event at Nassau Community College where she encouraged faculty and her peers to enroll in the New State Donate Life Registry. She also created brochures and a presentation to answer many of the most frequently asked questions about eye donation.
