National Nurses Week is a time to recognize the extraordinary contributions of nurses whose dedication to compassionate patient care improves healthcare outcomes and provides comfort to individuals and local communities. Nurses play an important role in the eye donation process. The Eye-Bank is grateful to the many nurses we work alongside in hospitals across our service area. Their collaboration helps to make eye donation and sight restoration possible.

The Eye-Bank’s Hospital and Community Liaisons work closely with nurses, providing education and support to ensure the eye donation process runs smoothly and respectfully. In the spirit of this week’s celebrations, our liaisons crafted “Nurse Appreciation” social media posts to express their gratitude and support for The Eye-Bank’s nursing partners.
Nurses are valuable throughout the eye donation and cornea transplantation process. We thank them for their support of our sight-saving mission and are proud to celebrate them this and every week.
